Most people ignore death out of fear or denial.
There is great benefit in knowing this life will end.
If you don’t know the purpose of death, you can’t know the purpose of life.
The birth of the body is closely related to the death of the body.
The goal is to emerge with a fuller life.
This seminar will be entirely experiential.
Much of our relationship with death is a habit created by events in our life where we could have benefitted from exploring rather than denying, but did not have the opportunity. So in these three days, we’ll develop the tools to explore our own particular habit structure that has shaped our personal relationship to death. We will learn and do practices that, by heightening our consciousness and our feeling nature, enable us to understand all the minor deaths we go through every day when our fear prevents us from truly feeling.
In addition, we will learn the mystical practices that enable us to remember the infinite space between the ego structure and the soul. These practices, when done properly, lead us into greater intimacy with our own death. David has often said he wishes he’d been able to learn this at an earlier age. We’re never too young to learn and understand the nature of life and death. The gift of this understanding is a fuller and richer life and deeper understanding of ourself and others.

On January 1, 2016, Pir Zia Inayat-Khan announced that the organisation known as The Sufi Order International has been renamed The Inayati Order in part to reflect the custom of naming a Sufi order after its founder.
In the history of Sufism, Orders have traditionally adopted the name of their founder in the decades following the founder’s death. Murshid Hazrat Inayat Khan understandably did not name his Order after himself, but long-established Sufi custom renders it natural and proper for us, who follow in his footsteps, to honor his memory and confirm our allegiance to his spiritual message by taking his name as the rubric of our work.
In consideration of these facts, and moved by a deep sense that the time has come, on this first day of the year 2016, Pir Zia Inayat-Khan has announced that The Sufi Order International will henceforth be known as The Inayati Order.
As a fuller designation the Order will be introduced as The Inayati Order: A Sufi Path of Spiritual Liberty. The name Inayatiyya will be considered a welcome synonym. You can read more about this on the international Inayati Order Site.
